The gameplay trailer for FC 25 has given us some exciting insights into the game’s features – and already reveals quite a lot about the career mode. Here’s a complete overview of the latest findings.
First, we saw the Rush mode with youth players in career mode – a strong impression showing that the boys actually look very young, which is a new feature, and have realistic faces through Cranium technology rather than completely absurd ones. We see their strength values and how they performed in the Rush youth tournament game: an overall grade for the game, tackles, distance run. And who is the player of the game.
This alone shows how much you can now identify with the youth players – who can be scouted from 160 countries for the first time – and how their performance in Rush games directly affects their development. Almost a game within a game.

And then, of course, it’s about the new FCIQ tactical system. And this now actually has massive implications for career mode. It starts with a much more detailed selection of team tactics. These were introduced in FC 24, now they are refined – you can not only change the formation, but also adjust the balance and aggressiveness.
But it only gets exciting through the player roles: You have to find the players that fit the playing system. They are not just CM or CB or striker, but they get one of 50 roles. Stopper, playmaker, false nine, winger, target man, poacher, box-to-box player. And there are also focus instructions – attack, balanced, defend. This also defines which space the player occupies on the pitch.
This is how you see, for example, Vinicius Junior at Real Madrid working actively as a winger with attack in the light green area. The advantages and disadvantages of the tactical orientation are displayed at the bottom. This now allows tactics enthusiasts to set up the playing system very precisely.

Player positions run through the entire career mode
And of course, this variety of player positions is already important to consider in scouting and transfers. It’s not enough to simply sign a defender or midfielder. He should also fit the playing system. Because players can perform the roles differently well – a plus or a double plus indicate this. The more familiar they are in their role, the better they perform in the game.
Of course, this can also be trained – which is why the training assistants introduced in FC 24 are becoming more important. And last but not least, when scouting youth, you have to make sure that the players fit into the playing system. This way, from the youth teams to the professionals, the entire club is subordinated to one playing philosophy. The roles are also described in detail in role cards.
New video sequences for career mode
An intro sequence from the trailer, in which Nuri Sahin is introduced as the new coach of Borussia Dortmund, also shows us that EA has made some new changes to the video sequences, the so-called cutscenes. The new coach is welcomed at BVB, with boards featuring black and white photos of club legends in the background. So something will be happening here too – finally, many videos simply can’t be watched anymore….
Hypermotion V plays a central role
The gameplay trailer for FC 25 shows that HypermotionV continues to play a central role in gameplay. The technology is based on data from 180 top games that have been converted into animations. The movements of hundreds of in-game professionals were influenced by the actions of real professionals.
The HyperMotionV technology uses volumetric data captured from complete matches of entire teams to enable authentic movements of all 22 players simultaneously. Machine learning is used to feed the proprietary algorithm with advanced data.
More movements, AI animations and ball physics
The new features include Volumetric Motion, AI Mimicry and AcceleRATE 2.0. The volumetric HyperMotionV data enables over 11,000 football-accurate animations that mimic the movements of the world’s top clubs. AI Mimicry replicates the movements of 1200 of the world’s best professionals, while AcceleRATE 2.0 divides the movement system for professionals into archetypes to show more details in acceleration.
The kinetic, physical play improves battles for the ball through new animations. AI-True Flight Ball Physics adapts ball movements to real game situations, and AI-Hands provide more realistic hand movements in the game.
More playstyles and more special moves
In the passing area, there are new mechanics such as precise passes, spin on demand and headers on demand. These allow players to exercise more control over their passes. In shooting, precision shooting has been introduced, which rewards aiming accuracy. The playstyles are extended to the goalkeepers.
Additionally, there are new special moves and changes to attacking positions that increase the dynamics in the game. The professionals try to make more determined diagonal runs and position themselves better in the penalty area. The improvements in FC 25 aim to make the gaming experience even more realistic and exciting.
Tactical fouls, weather, textures and mascots!
And then, of course, there are many details. You can now commit tactical fouls – pull on the jersey, then receive a yellow card, just like in real football. The weather has an influence when you set it, players slip on wet grass. The textures have been improved – you can see this in Nuri Sahin’s hairstyle, but also in the movement of the clothes during the game. And of course the highlight: The mascots! Shown are the zebra of Juventus Turin or Lynx of Paris Saint-Germain, for example, which is present during goal celebrations.e.txt
