The trailer is out, and there’s a wealth of information about EA FC 25’s Career Mode. EA has finally taken a big leap with the Career Mode! First, let’s address the most important question in the community: Yes, the walk-out sequences are back! You can skip them or watch them, complete with lineups, just like on TV! This alone is a significant improvement, as EA has fulfilled the fans’ most frequently expressed wish.
But this is just one of many changes in the Career Mode, which EA has thoroughly revamped. There are numerous customization options, allowing for individual settings in gameplay mechanics, gameplay itself, and menus. Here’s an overview.
Revised Morale System
There will be increased effectiveness in the morale system. This influences how you communicate with players. You need to praise players, but not excessively, as they might become overconfident and arrogant.
Press Conferences
These have also been reworked, with “NEW” questions that can relate to opponents, individual players, or tactics.Substitutes
You can finally put nine players on the bench, just as in real-life matches.
Corner Kicks
Corner kicks will be more individually adjustable, as they can be set up faster and more precisely. You can also determine who stands at the first and second post.
Quick Tactics and Substitutions
Through an in-game control menu, you can now change tactics more effectively and make substitutions faster. This is partially visible, and commentators will sometimes mention it!
Mascots and More Videos
Some clubs will have mascots that you can celebrate with. There are generally more cutscenes around players, coaches, and in the stadium. For example, coaches discussing or talking with the fourth official.
Improved and Dynamic Graphics and Visuals
The time of day can change during a match! Keyword: Dynamic Lighting. So, you might start in sunshine and end in darkness. Dynamic weather is planned but not initially included. This means changing rain, sun, or snow during the match. Players slip when it rains, the wind blows the ball in different directions. Ray tracing will provide another leap forward in graphics, making everything more realistic with more details.
Live Starting Points: Start your career from a point you determine!
This is new and a big, important feature: You’ll have the opportunity to set the start of your career in 11 top leagues. So your career can start as usual on July 1, or at a later point AND with the real standings in the league. So, the REAL Bundesliga on matchday 17 at that time will be integrated into the game.
-》Real table positions
-》Real top scorers
-》Real results
-》Current suspensions and injuries
-》All real events at the start of your career mode.
Bring the team back on track or block all other teams to stay at the top. This offers, of course, great potential for scenarios, and you can – if, for example, VfB Stuttgart goes from relegation candidate to vice-champion – play this midway through, and don’t have to start with the season start settings.
Much More Customization Options
You can now customize much more before and during the game, tailoring the Career Mode exactly to your preferences.
Transfer Embargo
This allows you to prevent any transfers from taking place, essentially freezing the initial state. If you set it to 6 seasons, no transfers will be possible for 6 seasons, and other clubs won’t make any either.
Scouting
Turn scouting on or off as you prefer.
Training Plans
Disable training plans if you don’t want to use them. Some found the training plans overpowered.
Board
Deactivate the board and thus also the objectives, which were often unrealistic or unachievable.
Gameplay Types
You have the choice between “Classic” and “Simulation”.
– Classic is as you know it and as it is in FC24
– Simulation runs slower and is much closer to reality, as it happens on football fields. This can be changed at any time.
AI Behavior
The AI players vary from game to game and show completely changing behavior, just like real people.

The new Rush mode on the small field is playable online and integrated into Career Mode for youth players.

The Youth Academy is expanded and you can test the youth players!
While the big revolution is missing, there are still many changes. 90 (!) more countries have been added for scouting, so you can now use almost every real country. And you can search for up to 4 positions simultaneously and select three tactical roles.
Visually, the youth players have also changed. They now look age-appropriate and don’t have full beards at 15. They will also visually age over time. The diversity of players has been adjusted – so they don’t all look the same. The game is supposed to create unique, realistic-looking, and clearly distinguishable players using AI.
Play with your youth players before the professional contract!
This is one of the really big features: Every two months there will be youth tournaments. This gives you the chance to play with the upcoming professionals from your academy and test if they are suitable for you and how they play. This happens via the new Rush mode on a small field with spectators, which is available in all game modes.
Here you play four against four, each with an AI goalkeeper, and can also compete online against others. It completely replaces Volta, which is no longer in the game.
So you play with young players! There are two options: Play them with their current rating in the tournament, or with their maximum potential. So you can already see how they perform with ideal development.

The tactical system is completely overhauled!
A learning team and learning opponents bring more realism to the game. New player roles give you even more possibilities to perfect your game and make your team even stronger. Behind this is the new tactical system “FCIQ”, which completely overturns the tactics you’ve known so far.
With the introduction of this new possibility, however, some positions are eliminated:
– CF
– LWB
– RWB
These positions are no longer available. Instead, you can assign different roles to positions like CM or LB, so that they behave more offensively or defensively. Or that they move to the wings or stay in the middle.
For example, if you give the left-back the LWB role and then set the exact focus, he will orient himself outwards. So you have much more depth in position design than before and can set up the players even more individually.
Additionally, you now have the “Familiarity” indicator. This shows you how familiar the player is with the position and how good the chances of success are for him there. The data for this was collected and evaluated by EA through AI. And from reality!
As an example, EA mentions cover star Jude Bellingham and the CAM position: If you play him with the “Defense” instruction, he has little to no familiarity and plays poorly. If you put him in defensive or central midfield, he plays mediocre. But if he plays in his position, he performs well and can achieve excellent performances.
Familiarity increases the work rate, which is no longer displayed as a separate value. However, you can train the roles with scouts or trainers and thus increase familiarity so that the player fits the position.
New Menu and New Messages
The menu type changes and we also get a quick key. Currently, this type of menu is already available in Football Ultimate Team (FUT), so it’s being transferred and is supposed to increase performance within the game. How quickly you can actually get from A to Z and how effectively you can overview your career will be seen.
Also new: You can check off important topics via a task list, but you don’t have to. The social media area essentially replaces the old news area. There are even fan comments on AI transfers and your own transfers. Transfers are announced by Fabrizio Romano, the well-known sports journalist. EA is already working with other news companies, so there could be more to come.
Women’s Football: The Career Mode is here!
You can now play all women’s teams from the five top leagues with a real career just like with the men. The only difference is in the amount of transfer fees and salaries. But be careful, it runs PARALLEL to the men’s career mode. If you start a career with a women’s team and then want to leave and go somewhere else, you don’t necessarily have to start a new career!
It will be possible to switch as a coach from there to the men’s career mode and vice versa! In the player career, you can now replay the careers of three icons, or play careers as a very young player, as a fallen star, or with certain challenges. Unfortunately, you can’t transfer the ICONS to the club career mode. Too bad.
Conclusion: Pretty cool new features!
Of course, you have to be careful with EA, because some things from the trailer feel better or look better than they will be in reality later. But at least EA has really changed a lot in the career mode now, improved youth scouting, and above all, there are many more individual customization options. The YouTuber “Der Hansus” says: Finally, everyone can play the career mode the way they want.
